Founded
MultiGen Inc. was founded in June 1986 in San Jose, CA and currently employs over 90 people.
Business
MultiGen Inc. is the leading developer of realtime 3D software tools used to create, edit and view interactive scenes for visual simulation, entertainment and CAD visualization applications.
Using MultiGens tools developers create software applications that provide users the experience of being in a realistic fantasy or virtual environment. MultiGens products allow developers easily to create, edit, enrich and view these virtual worlds, speeding the development of the simulation, visualization or entertainment application.
Technology
Visual Database - MultiGens authoring environment allow developers to see the model they are creating at the same time they are modifying the environments database. Developers can simultaneously display the hierarchical database and 3D graphs views for modeling and editing objects relationships in a realtime scene.
Realtime-Ready - Databases developed with MultiGen are able to maintain realtime performance, because the companys tools efficiently utilize the processing power of the playback system by providing less detail on distant objects and minimizing calculations required for off-screen items. The companys products provide level of detail, cullable hierarchy, geometry validation and texture tuning.
Open Environment - MultiGen defines and supports the industry standard realtime 3D scene description database, OpenFlight®, and supports most standard media formats.
Multi-platform Delivery - MultiGens OpenFlight databases run on multiple systems including Silicon Graphics, Evans & Sutherland, CAE, FlightSafety, REAL 3D, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Macintosh, PCs and other popular realtime 3D platforms.
Offerings
MultiGen® II Pro - the leading realtime 3D database generation system to create, edit and view databases for visual simulation, entertainment, training and CAD visualization applications. Powerful options are also available to allow Texturing, Terrain Data, Culture Data, Road Building, Behaviors, Instrumentation, 3D Audio, among others. Available on Silicon Graphics workstations.
MultiGen Creator™ - a complete interactive realtime 3D modeling and assembly system for the artist, programmer, realtime visual simulation developer or 3D modeler. Available on both NT and Silicon Graphics workstations.
MultiGen GO™ - the image generator application that provides an integrated realtime solution, giving instant access to the advanced image generation features of a Silicon Graphics workstation.
SmartScene™ - the world's first person-in-the-loop realtime 3D scene assembler that uses first-person viewpoint movement, visual browsing & ModelTime™ behaviors.
Solution Center - MultiGen offers three service innovations: Host Consulting, Advanced Modeling & Database Workshop, and Advanced Terrain Workshop. Each of these service programs are designed to help increase our customers productivity with MultiGens software.
Services - MultiGen offers product support and training, directly and through authorized partners. MultiGens VAR and System Integration partners provide database development and system consultation.
